The Fayetteville Police Department Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) was established in 1999. The original team consisted of five officers. Since its inception, the CNT has expanded to nine members.
Goals
The CNT goal is the preservation of human life and to seek out a peaceful resolution to critical incidents involving subjects who are suicidal, barricaded, hostage-takers or in crisis situations through communication and negotiation thus minimizing the need for the use of force.
Training
Negotiators train throughout the year and all members of the CNT are also members of the Arkansas Crisis Negotiators Association. For more information or should you have questions regarding the Fayetteville Police Department’s CNT, please call 479-587-3555.
