What is a Material Recovery Facility?
The City of Fayetteville operates a Material Recovery Facility (MRF). This facility is designed to process the recyclable material we collect. It is the first step in the process of incorporating recyclable materials back into the manufacturing stream so the value of these materials can be recovered and resources saved.
Tours
We are happy to show you around our MRF! Groups of all ages are welcome to come learn what happens to Fayetteville's recycling and trash. Tours of the MRF must be scheduled in advance. Please contact the Waste Reduction Coordinator to schedule.
