Additional storm drainage capacity in order to alleviate flooding the intersection and structures near/at the intersection of N College Ave and E Sunbridge Drive (Ward 3).
Why is it Important?
Multiple structures near College Avenue and Villa Drive, along with College Avenue itself routinely flood, causing danger to both property owners and drivers. Runoff from the east side of College Avenue floods the intersection of College Avenue and Sunbridge Avenue as well as impacting multiple businesses in the area.
What is the Status?
Design Contract was approved with Hawkins Weir Engineers on September 17, 2019 with conceptual design starting shortly thereafter. The goal of the conceptual design was to identify the necessary improvements and proposed storm sewer alignment. The conceptual drainage report analyzing one potential route was completed on February 24, 2020. Based on this analysis, one alternate routing was identified.
On March 31, 2020 City Council approved a contract amendment with Hawkins Weir to further analyze a second storm sewer routing and this analysis is currently underway.
How is it Funded?
Funding for this project comes from the Bond issue passed by voters in April, 2019.
