What is the Project?
Stream restoration project that would address major erosion currently damaging private property in the area just west of Sandpiper Drive (Ward 3).
Why is it Important?
This project would help alleviate the continued erosion and loss of private property as well as reduce the amount of pollutants being discharged into our streams and waterbodies.
What is the Status?
The City was awarded a $300,000 grant from the EPA to match bond dollars in order to complete the Scull Creek and Niokaska Creek Stream Restoration projects.
Design is scheduled to be complete in fall 2022 with construction starting shortly after.
How is it Funded?
Funding for the project comes from the Bond Issue approved by voters in April 2019 and the EPA grant.
