Fayetteville Parks and Recreation teaches hundreds of swim lessons every year. These lessons are available to children and adults of all skill levels.
Parent Tot (ages 6 months to 2 years)
The purpose of parent and child aquatics is to teach safe behaviors around the water and develop swimming readiness by leading parents and their children in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun and becoming comfortable in, on or around water. We use a one instructor to 8 participant ratio for these classes. Remember both parent/guardian and little tot are in the water together.

Level 1: (ages 5 & older)
Level 2: (ages 5 & older)

Private/Adult Swim Lessons
Wilson Park Wahoos Swim Team
The Wilson Park Wahoos summer developmental swim team is full of fun, skill building, and some friendly competition with other area summer league programs! This program replaced our level 4 swim lessons, as we bring in quality coaches, longer sessions, more sessions, and includes some FUN swim meets! For ages 5-7, the swimmer must be able to swim across the pool unassisted. For other ages, this is desired, but is not a requirement. All swimmers will be assessed for skills at their first practice.
For 9 & under swimmers. Due to pool depth, swimmers must be able to swim across the Wilson Park Pool unassisted. Practices will focus on freestyle and backstroke, learning to breathe on the side/back, building swimming endurance, and diving.
For the 10 & older swimmers. Practices for this group will focus on improving all strokes, dives, flip-turns, and building swimming endurance. It is recommended that your child be able to swim across the pool unassisted, but this is not required.
