All applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022.
Applications will not be accepted after the deadline.
All volunteers must reside within the Fayetteville city limits. If you are not a Fayetteville registered voter, you will need to provide proof of residency. All applicants must submit a new application for each board, commission or committee. Applications may be emailed to cityclerk@fayetteville-ar.gov or mailed to the Office of the City Clerk at 113 West Mountain, Fayetteville, AR 72701. Fayetteville boards, committees, and commissions consist of mostly volunteer residents who are devoted to giving their time and expertise on issues relating to each board, committee, or commission. Applicants must be a resident within the corporate limits of Fayetteville. If you are not a Fayetteville registered voter, you will need to provide proof of residency.
Vacancies are advertised and appointments are made quarterly. Resident appointments are made by the Nominating Committee of the City Council and receive final approval by the City Council.
33.331 - Attendance Requirements
(A) Any citizen volunteer member of any city board, commission or committee who fails to attend at least 70% of all meetings of that committee within a twelve (12) month period of service shall be deemed to have resigned from the board, commission or committee and that person’s position shall be deemed vacant.
(B) Such citizen may petition the City Council for reinstatement by filing a letter with the City Clerk within twenty (20) days after notification that the citizen’s position has been declared vacant and explaining why extenuating circumstances justify reinstating the applicant to his or her former position.
