Spay or Neuter Program
Purpose
The City of Fayetteville is pleased to be able to provide low cost spay/neuter services for $25 to qualifying families, and we make sure all adoptable pets are sterilized upon adoption. Fayetteville Animal Services is one of only a few municipalities in the state of Arkansas to employ a full-time veterinarian. This program helps combat animal overpopulation in our community.Moderate Income Families
The shelter's spay/neuter program is available for animals of low-to-moderate income families who are Fayetteville residents. To participate in the program, individuals must meet the federal income guidelines provided by HUD, which may be found here.To be eligible for the program, persons must complete a spay/neuter application and provide the shelter with proof of income and a photo I.D.
Income Verification
Acceptable items to document proof of income are:
- Last years W-2 statement
- Income tax statement
- Social Security statement
- Disability reimbursement statement
- Pay check stub
Scheduling Appointments
After the income verification process is complete, qualifying individuals will be notified and a time will be scheduled for your animal to be spayed/neutered by the shelter veterinarian. Surgery appointments usually occur within two weeks of the application being turned in.Vaccinations
If you do not have proof of current vaccinations by a licensed veterinarian we will vaccinate your pet for rabies. The cost of this vaccination is included in the $25 fee.
