Fayetteville City Council Meeting Postponed to June 4

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Fayetteville City Council meeting scheduled for tonight at 5:30 p.m. has been postponed to Thursday, June 4, at 5:30 p.m. All agenda items previously planned for review tonight by the council will be taken up on Thursday. An official meeting announcement will be issued as soon as possible by the Fayetteville City Clerk Treasurer’s Office.

Mayor Jordan made this decision Tuesday afternoon after receiving postponement requests from a majority of City Council members. The requests were made because of a planned protest event scheduled tonight near the Fayetteville Town Center and the Downtown Square Gardens. The protest event and the City Council meeting overlap in timing, creating a scheduling conflict for anyone who wishes to attend both.

Participants in tonight’s protest are urged to do so peacefully and are encouraged to take COVID-19 precautions.
