RE:  HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION AT 296 N. PLATINUM DRIVE
 
Fayetteville Police Chief Mike Reynolds announced today that an investigation is underway into a shooting that occurred in Fayetteville.   
On June 24, 2020 at approximately 7:22AM, Fayetteville Police Department Patrol Officers responded to 296 N. Platinum Drive, reference to a death. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male lying under a tree.  
Due to the nature of the crime scene the death was first called “suspicious”. Upon further investigation, this death is now being investigated as a homicide. The victim has been identified as Federico McDaniel Jr, black male, age 30, of Greenland.
