Square 2 Square Bike Ride to offer in-person and virtual options in 2021

 

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Fayetteville Parks and Recreation along with Bentonville Parks and Recreation are excited to announce that registration for the spring Square 2 Square Bike Ride is now open. The spring ride is a 30-mile trip that travels from Fayetteville to Bentonville via the Razorback Greenway. The leisure- or tour-style ride is great for all ages and abilities. The in-person spring ride will take place on Saturday, May 1, 2021. This in-person ride will be modified and limited to comply with COVID-19 safety precautions. Square 2 Square is presented by Clif Bar.  
 
In addition to an in-person event, a virtual ride option will be offered during the month of May, which is National Bike Month. The virtual ride offers the opportunity for participants to complete a 15-mile or 30-mile ride between May 2 and May 31.
 
This will be the sixth year of the Square 2 Square Bike Ride, which continues to grow in popularity. Despite the 2020 set back of not being able to host in-person rides, participation in the virtual rides last year was strong, with 2,658 participants total. Event organizers aim to continue serving novice and veteran riders alike through in-person and virtual offerings in 2021.
 
Participants must register in advance and will receive a goody bag complete with a synthetic t-shirt, stainless steel mug, and finisher medal. Adults (ages 14+) can register for $35, Youth (ages 13 and under) can register for $20. A family of up to 4 household members can register for $60. During the spring registration period, fall ride registration is also available.  The fall Square 2 Square Bike Ride will take place on Saturday, October 2, with a virtual ride option offered during the month of October.
