Fayetteville Residents Invited to Provide Ideas for Underwood Community Park

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The City of Fayetteville is beginning work on a master plan to develop the new Underwood Community Park, located on a portion of the former Razorback Park Golf Course.

The City’s Parks, Natural Resources and Cultural Affairs Department, along with landscape architects with Ecological Design Group, will hold an open house meeting Saturday, Sept. 24, to gather preliminary ideas from the public about what residents would like to see at Underwood Community Park.

The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at 2514 W. Lori Drive off Dean Solomon Road, the site of the old golf course pro shop for the golf course. Park staff and planners will be at the meeting ready to listen to ideas and answer questions.

“This is a meeting to dream big before the realities of site and budgets are considered,” said Park Planning Superintendent Ted Jack. “Together, let us imagine tomorrow’s parks.”

Additionally, a survey and other information will be available at the meeting and online for those who are unable to attend the meeting. The survey is located on Speak Up Fayetteville, the City’s online engagement portal. To take the survey, go to: https://speakup.fayetteville-ar.gov/underwood-park-planning.

Information from this meeting will influence work moving forward. The City will hold additional public-input opportunities to help in the development of this new master plan.

Additional information, including data gathered through the planning process and a timeline, is available at https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/imagine.
