apugh@fayetteville-ar.gov City Holds Meeting to Review Updated Floodplain Maps
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — On September 1, 2015, the Fayetteville City Council authorized the City’s participation in a grant-funded project referred to as the
Phase 2 Risk MAP program in cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ANRC). The project’s purpose is to update the Washington County Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) so that the risks associated with a flooding event can be more accurately defined.
This project is now nearing completion and preliminary maps have been provided to the City for review. As a part of the review process, the City invites property owners who may be affected to review the preliminary maps, provide feedback, and ask questions. City staff, Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ANRC) members, and the project consultant will be available to answer questions at a drop-in style meeting.
When:
Tuesday, March 28
- 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
