RE: WANTED FELONS ARRESTED
Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the arrest of two wanted felons.
On Friday, January 19, 2018, at approximately 1:29 PM, Fayetteville Police responded to 2875 West Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard (Walmart) in reference to a suspicious activity call. The caller advised several individuals were acting suspiciously and were becoming aggressive with Walmart loss prevention officers.
Upon officer’s arrival, they encountered Joshua S COFFMAN, age 20, of Springdale and Braden A COLLINS, age 19, of Springdale inside the business. After checking their criminal history, it was learned that COFFMAN had arrest warrants for aggravated robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance. COLLINS had arrest warrants for aggravated robbery, fleeing (vehicle) and obstructing governmental operations. As the officer was placing them under arrest, COLLINS attempted to strike an officer, and both subjects attempted to flee.
COFFMAN and COLLINS were apprehended inside the business. During the apprehension of COLLINS his head collided with the head of an officer causing injuries to both individuals. After COLLINS and COFFMAN were taken into custody, COLLINS battered a paramedic.
Both officers were treated for injuries.
This investigation is on-going.
