On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at approximately 1:40 AM, patrol officers responded to the area of North Gregg Avenue and Wren Circle for a report of gunshots fired.  The patrol officers checked the area, but they were unable to find the source of the gunshots.   At approximately 3:25 AM, patrol officers responded to Washington Regional Medical Center for a male that arrived with a gunshot wound. The victim was in serious condition and was unable to provide details about his injuries.  During the investigation, detectives canvased the area of North Gregg Avenue and Wren Circle and located four 10mm shell casings.
On Friday, January 19, 2018, at approximately 1:47 AM, Fayetteville patrol officers responded to 3001 W. Wedington Drive apartment #66 for a report of multiple gunshots. The building was struck by numerous rounds, but no one was injured at this location.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned the two shootings were related, and were able to identify Parker W. ANEAL, age 23, of Fayetteville, as the suspect in both shootings. Detectives also discovered the shootings occurred because of an on-going feud between the victim of the shooting on January 17th and ANEAL.
On Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at approximately 4:20 PM, detectives arrested ANEAL during a traffic stop and recovered a 10mm shell casing, 10mm ammunition, a 9mm handgun that was listed as stolen from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a Xanax pill.   Detectives then executed a search warrant at ANEAL’s residence, and found five additional weapons, 145 grams of marijuana wax, 10 grams of marijuana, 9 Alazopram pills, and 1 ounce of codeine.  ANEAL was arrested for Battery in First Degree, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Theft by Receiving, Terroristic Act (two counts) and multiple violations of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
