RE: FAYETTEVILLE POLICE MAKE ARREST IN TERRORISTIC THREAT
Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the arrest of a Fayetteville High School student for Falsely Communicating a Terrorist Threat.
On February 15th, 2018, at approximately 8:15PM, patrol officers and detectives began to investigate reports of a threatening social media post. The post stated, “let shoot the school up like they did in Florida.”
Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined that a Fayetteville High School student was responsible for the social media post. The student was located and interviewed about the threat. The student claimed his social media post was sent to a friend as a joke. During a search of the student’s residence, a rifle was located, but no ammunition was found.
This investigation is on-going.
