FAYETTEVILLE POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING
 
Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today that an investigation is underway into a shooting that occurred in Fayetteville.  

On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at approximately 11:40 PM, the Fayetteville Police Department responded to Washington Regional Medical Center in reference to a male with a gunshot wound. When officers arrived, they confirmed a white male sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The injuries are not life threatening.

The preliminary investigation indicated that this incident was drug related and not a random act. The location of the shooting is unknown at this time.
This investigation is ongoing.
