Fayetteville Bike Share Program Officially Launches September 19
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— The City of Fayetteville, University of Arkansas, Experience Fayetteville, and VeoRide, Inc. invite the public to the Fayetteville Bike Share Program launch event at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19 in front of the Fulbright Peace Fountain on the University campus.
Before the launch event, approximately 45 bikes will be deployed today, September 14. To try the bikes out, VeoRide is offering five free riding coupons (worth $2.50 credit in balance) to every new registered user from today through October 3.
The Fayetteville program is the largest to-date for VeoRide with 340 custom bikes, including 290 standard 7-speed bicycles and 50 electric motor assisted “e-bikes.” The bike colors are cream and Razorback cardinal red with logos of the City, University, and Experience Fayetteville.
VeoRide is a dockless bike sharing system using geo-fencing technology which aids with bike parking, locations for pickup and drop-off, and perimeter tracking. Other technology systems will help an operations team maintain the fleet, resolve customer issues, and provide data to improve the program. While most bike share programs require use of smartphone apps and credit cards, VeoRide’s system offers alternatives.
