The Fayetteville Police Department has announced the promotion of Tad Scott to the position of Captain.
Captain Tad Scott began his career with the Fayetteville Police Department as a police officer on August 28, 1995. During his 24 years of service, he has served the department in many different capacities including as a patrol officer, a bike patrol officer, field training officer, police instructor, detective and a member of the department's emergency response team.
Captain Scott was promoted to his first supervisory rank of sergeant on January 1, 2004, where he supervised afternoon shift patrol. He also served in this supervisory capacity as a team leader for the emergency response team.
On January 1, 2007, Captain Scott was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. As a lieutenant, he supervised night shift patrol as well as served as the commander of the emergency response team. In September of 2010, he was assigned to the Special Events Division, which included motorcycle patrol, bicycle patrol, and the K9 division. In January of 2012, Captain Scott was assigned supervisory responsibility for the Criminal Investigations Division. In July of 2017, he returned to the patrol division to supervise day shift patrol operations.
Captain Scott is a graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command. He holds a Senior Law Enforcement Certificate, an Associate of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of Arkansas.
Captain Scott and his wife, Marisa, have three beautiful children.
