I put in an application to adopt one of your animals, why do I have to wait to bring it home?
Our goal is to find permanent, loving homes for companion animals. We evaluate the animals to the best of our ability to assure they will be suitable family pets. Our 24 hour wait period allows our veterinary staff to spay or neuter, microchip, rabies vaccinate, and feline leukemia or heartworm test the new addition to your family.

This also gives you time to purchase the items you need such as collars, leashes, food, bowls, litter boxes, dog houses, and pet carriers. If a pet is already spayed or neutered, you may be able to take the animal home sooner. For more information, contact the Animal Services at 479-444-3456.
